Honeymoon is Fixed

Well, things are really on a role now!! After the success of getting Imogen's ar$e into gear and sorting her dress we have had a very productive few weeks in which we have fixed the seating plan, chosen the menu, sorted Immy's dress, decided the shoes are not bohemien enough, decided they are then not and are now back on the shoes are OK (I think). And most importantly we have booked the honeymoon!!

So what are we doing I hear you cry?

Well, we are going to spend the first week on a canal boat followed by a two weeks in Italy!! Yeah I know, not very hardcore for the seasoned jet setting travellers that we are but we decided that we spend quite enough time rushing around here there and everywhere and so we deserved a rest and and so a canal boat trip seems perfect.

For those of you who know Wrenbury will know that Wrenbury Hall is very close to the Llangollen Canal.

We are therefore going to hire a canal boat from Empress Holidays which Richard and I will collect on the morning of the wedding and bring up the canal from basin end in time for the wedding. Next morning Imogen and I will leave the venue by barge and set off on our chilled and relaxed married life together.

The plan is to spend a week cruising up and down the Llangollen canal, calling in at pubs along the way and generally jsut chilling and enjoying the British countryside. The aim is to get as far as the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and then head back. And anybody who know me well will know that I am scared stiff of heights to crossing telfords aqueduct will be an achievement for me in iteself!!

After our week as water gypsies is over we will be returning the boat to Nantwich before heading to Heathrow and on to Italy where we will spend two nights in Naples, four in Serrento, four in Florence and three in Venice.....home of all things romantic.

We are just hoping that between now and then we can learn a few Italian phrases, find an Italian road map (as we are hiring a car to get around) and learn a bit about Italian food etiquette (as apparently there are several very strict unwritten rules about what you can and can't order, how you can and can't order it and when you can and can't.

Oh joy, plenty of opportunity to offend without realising it......Sound fun ;0)
