The Ring Arriveth

With the hook baited and the question popped I had me a fine catch of a future wife, all that was needed now was a sparkly ring to seal the deal. As previously mentioned, Imogen had stolen my thunder in the popping the question department and so the popping was done before the sparkling was ready.....so to speak.

However, with everything out in the open I was at least able to check with the lovely Immy that the ring was what she actually wanted. I showed her similar ones on the tiffanys web page and she was suitably pleased and impressed (or was very good at hiding her disappointment) and so the order was finalized and the ring arranged. Next challenge, getting it to Dubai....

Sharon looked in to shipping options for us but fearful of it:
  1. going missing in transit;
  2. being opened by customs and going missing;
  3. being opened by customs and being forced to pay a made up imaginary tax before it could be released
  4. all of the above
We decided instead that it best my mum fly over with the ring and deliver it personally, and so our illegal gem smuggler was dispatched with the sparkly hidden at the bottom of her bottomless hand bag (if you know my mum you'll know that is a VERY safe....provided it can be found again).

Anyway, long story short, she arrived on Wednesday 28th January with her personal body guard on tow and the Sparkly was placed upon my betrothed's finger.

Deal Sealed, no turning back now.
